Handcraft Homes uses only the most proven materials on the market. Any estimate; unless otherwise specified, will reflect the following materials as standard. Estimates are more detailed, but the examples below provide a guide to the type of quality that Handcraft provides.
FOUNDATION
- 13 Course block foundation
- Handcraft believes a block foundation is superior to a poured concrete foundation due to the nature that block allows the craftsman to build a foundation one piece at a time similar to stick building a home.
FRAMING
- Handcraft uses only the finest kiln dried dimensional lumber available

- Conventional rafter roof 16"on center in lieu of a 24"on center manufactured roof system
- OSB ( engineered sheathing) for the floors walls and roof sheathing (Handcraft believes the days of plywood are over. Engineered products like OSB are far superior then conventional plywood. Handcraft also uses engineered beams)

INTERIOR WALLS AND TRIM
INSULATION
- R/13 for the exterior walls and R/38 for the exterior ceilings
- Crawl space walls are insulated with a fiberglass blanket

WALLS
- ½" drywall glued and nailed (Handcraft believes the cause of nail pops is as the framing wood dries the nail is pushed out due to excessive moisture in the wood. Therefore, Handcraft bakes the house with its own furnace while the home is under construction allowing the water content of the lumber to escape while under construction and not after the customer goes through the first heating cycle. This is also the reason to purchase quality kiln dried lumber. However, if a client request the use of screws we will certainly accommodate them)

GLASS AND HARDWARE
DOOR KNOBS
- front door will have a KWIKSET Titan Monroe with a brass kick plate
- all other exterior and interior doors will be any of the Kwikset knobs
- all exterior doors will have a single cylinder deadbolt
- one keyless deadbolt by Weiser this lock allows easy access for the customer and the craftsman throughout the project. The lock has a reprogramable memory which can be changed to the clients' own code upon completion of the house.
- Door hinges will be polished brass to match the Kwikset product
BATHROOM MIRRORS
- set on top of the backsplash of the vanity top and will be 42" in height and will be self edged with a metal j channel against the vanity top
- powder room mirror will be a 36"x 22" oval shape with a beveled edge.
MASTER BATH SHOWER DOOR
- frosted glass with chrome edge frame and polished brass trim
BATH HARDWARE
- upgrade towel bars and toilet paper holders will be provided for the powder room and master bath in polished brass and chrome
- standard chrome for the remaining baths
- one standard set for each bathroom with the master bath getting two towel bars.
LANDSCAPING AND DRIVEWAY
FINE GRADING
- immediate area around house of disturbance will be graded, fertilized, seeded & strawed
- owner is responsible for watering
- additional cost will accrue if a pool is added during construction
DRIVEWAY
- finished with 2"of asphalt
- standard 10' wide drive with a 35' wide 2 car parking area
LANDSCAPING

GENERAL
